Ahh, thanks for the update. I hope things are going well behind the scenes now. I'm also looking forward to the next article, as well as seeing what Studio Archcraft will be bringing us next. I'm planning on replaying Black Sigil again soon because I really enjoyed it, and because I'm occasionally finding myself wanting to listen to its' music more often.

Good luck in your work and other important areas! :D

Now that some time has past, can you tell us some details on the Black Sigil sales? Was it a success so far?
I'm looking forward to your next article and further announcements. :)

Black Sigil, despite the high(er) than usual random encounter rate, is a superb RPG. The story line was captivating, and each of the characters has a unique personality. I would like to see a better map, and possibly a travel log and encyclopedia, or even a better printed manual/guide. I will be looking forward to a follow up on this title.

Excellent game 11/10

I would just like to say I really enjoyed Black Sigil and I just finished my 2nd playthrough. I found the game quite interesting and the story was excellent. I got most of my friends to buy the game as well. Although I do agree if there are random battles I hope the encounter rate is not like Black Sigil.

Although Black Sigil is good I would like option #2. It would be quite enjoyable to see new characters however I hope they would be more balanced than in the first one. Isa was my favorite character but her points to let her do magic was so low that she could only do a few moves with the spells/magic and sword skills taking up so many. I really liked the comedy in the cast which I would like to see as well.

Either way I can't wait to see your next project!

Good article! I'm looking forward for the next one.

Yeah, I want to make games in my future. I like coding some stuff, I try to creat the better and the more simple algorithm for my games. I'm studying at school in programming right now. But, I work really hard on Rpg Maker in my freetime. I try to creat some custom stuff in the games I make. What is fun with Rpg Maker, is that you can creat variables and you can put your algorithm with these to creat a personal Battle System, a personal Menu system, etc. If I want, I can make the same battle system of Black Sigil(With hours of work lol, but it's possible^^)

Anyway, great article!^^

Thanks for the article. It was well written and contains a lot of good points.
I'm planning to create a RPG in the future. I have only written down the basic storyline and some gameplay features, but I already know which tool I'm going to use to bring it to life.
The only thing I'm missing now is some freetime. But I see the creation of this game more like a hobby. I don't think that I'm going to start my life in the gaming industry with an own business.

#1 - Yes, please!

#2 - Yes, please!

#3 - Yes, please!

Black Sigil is a great game, despite its flaws. I'll throw some suggestions, for what they're worth.

- If on DS: Separate map screen (possibly scrollable since the screens
 are so tiny)
- Town maps, or at least bigger shop signs
- Post-game content
- New game +
- Build your own village, maybe?
- Quests/bounties
- Customization (characters and ships! Oooooh...)
- Job system? Sorry. It rules so much, I'd love to see others' take on
 something like it.

Sure, there are others. Everyone has an idea of "The Perfect Game."
Based on how great Black Sigil is, I'll get the next Studio Archcraft game Day One!
