So, let’s talk…

May 26th, 2009

Specifically, let’s find out what interests you guys. As I mentionned earlier, we want this blog to serve as an information source about Studio Archcraft, as a feedback mechanism and as a source of information on game design and development.

There are currently tons of things happening behind the scenes here, so any information about us I could give you today would be out of date in a month. I’ll post that information as and when it becomes meaningful. And while I’d love to have feedback on Black Sigil, I think we’d be better off waiting until people have had the chance to play it.

So… that leaves us with the last aspect - a source of design and development information. Is that something that would interest people? Any topics you want to see covered?

One note: I’m still getting used to WordPress. I installed some plugins to avoid spam and other atrocious posts, but I have no clue if it will work properly - so read the comments at your own risks.

Grand Opening

May 19th, 2009

Hello, and welcome to the Studio Archcraft blog.

As Black Sigil is now making it’s way to store shelves, we decided that it was time to open a new line of communication with the public.  Emails are a bit cumbersome, forums are nearly impossible to keep track off, and the News section is strictly one-way, which is not what we had in mind. So a blog it is.

So what will that blog be used for? Well, for starters, we want to be able to give a bit more information about what we’re doing at Studio Archcraft.  For example, “we finally finished the level designs for our next game” probably doesn’t warrant a post on the News page. But it does on a blog.

We also want to be able to get some feedback from the gamers. At some point in the near future, I’ll enable comments so that you can talk to us as well.

We also want this blog to become a resource for would-be game developers. Design tips, reading lists, pointers on how to break into the game industry, how to start a development studio… this is all fair game for this blog.

Finally, of course, we’ll use this blog for shameless self-promotion as well. Did you preorder your copy of Black Sigil yet?

So… stay tuned!
